Run For The Kids
Run For The Kids is a community event in Melbourne that raises money for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal, so the hospital can care for children.

“Lacey in 2020 was at the Children’s Hospital. Chloe in 2021 was also at the Children’s Hospital … 2024 was the first year that we were surgery-free. That’s why I ran.”

What do participants think?
“We’re running for my daughter Monique, who passed away with children’s brain cancer called DIPG. So we’re just raising awareness of DIPG and children’s brain cancers, because there’s not much funding, so, that’s why we’re here today – in memory of my daughter Monique.”

“I’ve been running as Princess Belle here – this is my 7th year, I think, and now my whole run club comes dressed in costume. [This year’s medals] are really pretty. Green’s my favourite colour. They’re actually really cool.”

“We’ve been running for the Royal Children’s Hospital since ’09. Love what they do. [The medal’s] a beautiful colour this year. Very happy with it. It’s really nice.”
