Pricing
Whether you are ordering custom medals, challenge coins or lapel badges, our minimum spend is US$450 + GST.
Our awards can cost anywhere from US$0.35 to US$13.55 per unit, but the final price you it all depends on a few things:
1. The number of medals you order:
Think of buying awards like buying in bulk at the supermarket: the more you purchase at once, the less you pay per item.
This is because larger orders allow us to use our resources more efficiently, and reduce costs such as rent and salaries. We then pass those savings onto you. Here’s an example of this in action:
2. The level of customisation you want:
The best part of our awards is the ability to customise them.
Of course, each choice you make has an effect on the price – some might push it up, while others bring it down.

FAQs
This is pretty normal in the awards industry. Most suppliers have a minimum spend, often dressed up as a ‘minimum order quantity’ or, to shorten it, an ‘MOQ’.
Why? Well, to put it simply, making high-quality awards takes a lot of time and effort. It involves things like creating moulds (the templates that shape your award), setting up machines, and hiring skilled workers.
Without a minimum spend, smaller orders would actually cost us more to make than they’d bring in, which would force us to either cut corners on quality or shut down altogether.
That’s why the minimum spend is so important: it ensures we can keep delivering the awards you deserve.
And trust us, what you’re getting is worth every penny!
A setup fee is a one-time charge that covers the cost of creating the mould for your award or, in the case of our custom ribbons, getting the machines ready to print your design.
We charge one setup fee per design.
To help you see how this works, here’s an example of what we mean:
We only charge one setup fee for medals of the same design, even if they’re in different colours.
For example, the three medals below are all covered by the same setup fee.
Once the mould is made, it’s yours to use for any future orders of the same design.
In other words, you won’t have to pay the setup fee again.
Adding a custom ribbon to your medal comes with a setup fee.
This covers the cost of programming the ribbon’s design into our printing machines.
We charge one setup fee per design. For instance, if you’re hosting a marathon and a half-marathon with the same medal but want different ribbons for each event, you’d be charged two ribbon setup fees.
You won’t be charged a fee if you decide to go with plain, one-coloured ribbons.
Freight costs can change depending on where you are, how much your order weighs, and even the time of year. Shipping around Christmas, for example, tends to be more expensive. That’s why, for bigger orders, we offer a flat freight fee – a fixed price that won’t change, no matter what the market does.
It’s a smart choice if you’re ordering awards ahead of time, protecting you from those holiday price spikes.
The amount of GST you pay depends on which country you live in.
Let’s break down the GST rates for some of the countries we serve the most:
- Australia: 10%
- New Zealand: 15%
- United Kingdom: 20%
- United States: Varies by state, but typically ranges from 0% to around 10%
At Badges And Medals, we focus on keeping our awards affordable, often beating the competition. But on the rare occasion that we’re not the lowest, we don’t offer price matching. This is because we’ve already priced our products as low as possible without cutting corners on quality or the experience you deserve.
If you’re working within a specific budget or have questions about our pricing, we recommend you speak to our dedicated sales team using our contact form. We’ll do our best to work with you to create the perfect award within your price range.
