Basketball New Zealand’s journey was different than most, said its tournaments lead, Jay Macdonald. For years, they relied on Badges And Medals, but in 2022, a contractual obligation forced them to switch. They returned back a year later.
“Whenever I send an order to [Badges And Medals], I know it’s in good hands,” Macdonald said. “There’s no second-guessing or chasing things up constantly … It lets us focus on running great tournaments.”
Better designs
Returning to Badges And Medals wasn’t just about reliability, said Macdonald.
It was also an opportunity to level up Basketball New Zealand’s medal design.
“When we switched back to Badges And Medals, we kept the same design but made the medals bigger,” Macdonald said.
“The athletes really liked the change – it made a big difference.”

Their quick responses and regular updates gave the team confidence throughout the ordering process that everything was as it should be, Macdonald said.
